The short answer is NO!
Both a manager and an entrepreneur are two different people with different skills. An entrepreneur can’t necessarily become a great manager and vice versa.

This comparison highlights the extremes between both personality types. If an entrepreneur is able to adapt to the needs of a growing company by acquiring more stable and long-term focused management skills then even an entrepreneur can be a great manager. However, most successful entrepreneurs prefer the ease and freedom of starting businesses as opposed to getting sucked into the administrative needs to grow and mature a company.
Now, what are the odds that a great manager turns into an equally successful entrepreneur? In my opinion, the chances are close to zero. For some entrepreneurs, it’s a natural transition to become great leaders or managers within their own organization. However, for a manager to start an entirely new and disruptive career as an entrepreneur is a drastic and life-changing event. It requires talent and skills. Most of those you either have or you don’t.
